Margaux et vincent — Wild wedding in Balagne

Wild Corsica Wedding in the Balagne: Sea, Mountains… and a Maxi Party at “Le Nid de Charrette”

Between Paris, New York and Rio, they lived across three time zones. Their wedding? Raw scenery, the sea stretching to the horizon, mountains as backdrop, and a set design planned to the millimeter. Story below.

Their Story: 2017 → 2024, From Meet-Cute to Far Horizons

  • 2017 — First encounter at a dinner with mutual friends. Lovely evening… then life moved on.

  • Spring 2020 — Lockdown. Vincent is in New York, she’s in Paris. They reconnect to organize a birthday video for a mutual friend. The spark is there.

  • September 2020 — Vincent returns to Paris. Borders closed, visas on hold: they finally meet again, and the story truly begins.

  • 2020–2021 — She lands a job in an architecture agency she loves; a “blessing in disguise” that keeps them in Paris for 18 months.

  • February 2022They move to New York together.

  • AfterTwo years in New York, then eight months in Rio, with back-and-forths between Paris / NYC / Rio. A nomadic, joyful, steady love.

“We were both stuck in Paris… waiting for New York. Life did its magic.”

The Venue: Balagne, Corsica — Authentic, Raw, and No Curfew

They wanted wild nature, no château, no end-time, no sound limits. Pure freedom.
While exploring Google Earth, she spots a small structure nestled in a natural cove, between sea and mountains, in the Balagne: Le Nid de Charrette. Instant yes.

  • Why the Balagne? It’s where sea + mountains blend like nowhere else in the Mediterranean.

  • Why the middle of nowhere? To dance late, push the sound, and shape the space their way.

  • Why this exact spot? A natural bowl like a stone amphitheatre, sea-facing, with everything to design—a dream playground for an architect.

“It felt like getting married in the desert: everything to build. I loved it.”

The Design: Art Direction to the Millimeter

Her architect’s eye drove the set design: an ultra-precise lookbook (down to the ratios of pink/orange/white flowers), cohesive materials, generous volumes and air.
L’Atelier du Chef followed the vision and executed flawlessly. The result: a no-frills decor perfectly in tune with the site.

The Wedding Day: Soft Morning, Dream Light, Perfect Tempo

She’s not the stressed type: a cocoon morning in Casalegna, Kelly Abékassis Make-up at work, girlfriends around the table.
The final rush? A little hectic (as it often is)… but the vibe stayed great.
Miracle weather: clear skies, after a gloomy day before and… a sandstorm the day after. Spot-on timing.

“Honestly, I’d do it again a thousand times. Planning and scenography… that’s my happy place.”

The Party: Live Music, Vocals, and the Big Blue

Your Dream Band brought the DJ live energy (a beautiful vocal moment), the sea darkened slowly, the mountains stood guard… and the dance floor never emptied.
Moonriver filmed it with pace and emotion.
At the end? The same line from everyone: “That was insane.”

Tips from the Couple (If You Dream of a “Wild” Corsican Wedding)

  • Scout with Google Earth: hunt for coves, bowls, access roads, and prevailing winds.

  • Sound plan & neighbors: in remote zones you gain time freedom.

  • Streamline flows: ceremony + dinner + party on one site = happy guests.

  • Create a detailed lookbook: colors, textures, flowers (even percentages). It changes everything.

  • Anticipate weather & terrain: a beautiful Plan B (not a sad fallback), plus solid lighting/tech logistics.
